Electrophoretic painting aluminum profile
Electrophoretic painting is to cover acrylic resin paint evenly on the aluminium profiles and sealed without porosity, this immersion wet paint finishing process uses electrical current to attract the painting onto the aluminum surface by submerging the profiles into painting tank for the coating bath or solution, profiles can be painted both inside and out, wherever the liquid is able to reach the aluminum surface.

Electrophoresis is the resin coating of aluminum profiles after anodizing them. This process, which also called electro-coating or e-coating, uses an electrical current to put paint on the aluminum profiles. It gives the profiles a durable, long-lasting coating that offers protection from wear and corrosion and it enhances the appearance of the profile.

Electrophoresis is an efficient finishing process. Normally, it begins with preparation of the aluminum profiles through cleaning, washing and degreasing. After removing the aluminum profiles from an anodizing tank with a conveyor, they are taken through a series of cleaning steps before dipping them in an electrified tank for the actual electro-coating. The first cleaning operation is hot water washing followed by pre-degreasing. Then the profiles are moved to a dip washing section which is also followed by a number of pure (or de-ionized water ) rinsing operations.

Just before the profiles are dipped into the electrophoresis tank, they are sealed with a conversion coating and rinsed with de-ionized water. The coating process involves the submersion of the profiles into a tank or vessel that holds the coating solution. A direct current is applied throughout the electrophoresis tank with electrodes. This voltage could be between 25 to 400 volts DC.

When the profiles are in the electrophoresis tank, the electric current draws the paint particles towards the profiles through the movement of ions in the solution. The coating covers every single part of the profiles because as one part of the metal becomes coated, it becomes insulated and diverts the current to the other spots. This gives the profiles a thin and even coating.

After the electro-coating has been completed, the profiles are carried with a conveyor for another round of rinsing or washing with de-ionized water. The rinsing is necessary to remove any loose particles from the profiles. In some cases, the rinsing process uses a type of ultra-filter to take some water from the bath to use as rinsing water. The rinsed off material is also channeled back to the coating tank to ensure effective utilization of all coating materials.

Subsequently, all the profiles are taken into a curing oven where they are cured for about 30 minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees Centigrade. The curing process ensures that the polymer is cross-linked. Any porous sections of the coating are covered because curing causes the coating to flow out and become continuous and uniform.

Electrophoresis is a versatile aluminum profile coating process. It may be used as a final top coat after applying other types of surface treatment. It offers high coating transfer efficiency with precise film control. Since most of the process is automated, it reduces the cost of labour. Many profiles can be arranged in a line and dipped into the coating tank at the same time to improve efficiency and give a higher throughput.

Electrophoresis offers high performance and quality and it can be used to coat very complex profiles including those with intricate shapes. It gives a uniform film thickness and excellent edge coverage. This process also offers a consistent output under the same operating conditions of temperature, electric current and timing.

Benefits of Electrophoresis Aluminum Profiles

1. Durable Layer of Protection:  Electrophoresis offers a stronger and more durable layer of protection than merely anodizing the metal. The electro-coated layer is a stain-resistant, water-proof and transparent film that offers high wear-resistance.

2. Even Thickness on all Parts of the Profile: Every part of the profile has the same thickness. Profiles with complex shapes also have a uniform coating. During the electrophoresis process, the thickness of the film can be increased or reduced by adjusting the amount of electric current (or voltage) that is following through the tank.

3. Glossy Surface Finish:  The transparent resin on the metal gives the profile an attractive gloss finish. After powder coating has been applied to the profile, electro-coating may be used to give it additional lustre and improve the appearance of the metal.

4. Superior Edge Coverage: All edges of the aluminum profiles are properly covered by the e-coating. This protects the edge from scratches, holes and other defects that can reduce the quality and durability of the profile. Due to the uniform thickness of the film, every part of the profile is covered.

5. Superior Corrosion Protection: When the aluminum profiles are to be used in a place that has a high risk of corrosion, electrophoresis aluminum profiles will offer adequate protection from harsh weather elements and corrosion. This is particularly true in areas where a high amount of salt water is present.

6. Environmentally Safe Process: This process does not harm the environment. it produces little or no hazardous air pollutants. The volatile organic compounds are very minimal and there are no heavy metal formulations. The closed loop system also ensures that the water and other materials used can be recycled to ensure minimal discharge of waste into the environment. All process are are performed in compliance with international safety standards.

Applications of Electrophoresis Aluminum Profiles

Electro-coated aluminum profiles may be used to create elegant looking doors and windows. When there's a need for durability and aesthetic appeal, this type of profiles will meet the customer's expectations. Doors made with e-coated frames may be installed at the front of any home or office. Due to their high corrosion protection, they are ideal for homes that are constructed in areas with a high amount of salt water or high humidity.

Similarly, electro-coated profiles are suitable for various types of window frames. From casement to awning and sliding windows, these profiles offer beautiful frames. With the high wear-resistance, the windows will withstand almost any type of weather condition and remain in excellent condition for many years.

Overall, electrophoresis offers a reliable way to coat and protect aluminum profiles from corrosion and wear. Their uniform and glossy appearance makes them a good choice for various kinds of construction work. Our electro-coated profiles may be used for various doors and windows and for other types of fixtures in many architectural building designs.
